Are you owning your past, your story? Or are you trying to live as if it didn't exist? Many of us try to run from our past, or try to cover it up, I know I did for a long time.
I worked hard to reinvent my life from my late teens, trying to separate myself from my "crazy" childhood. I wanted to be the type of person that no one would ever even guess what I'd been through or where I came from, and honestly, I achieved that goal. It wasn't until my late 30's that I realized how much owning your story can actually set you free.
We all have a past, some of us have one we'd rather not remember, and owning it, especially to the world, is terrifying and one of the most difficult things you can do. But, the sense of freedom that comes from embracing it and no longer running, is so worth it.
So, I wanna say how brave today's guest is. This is the first time she's ever shared details of her heartbreaking past with the world, and it's a VERY brave thing to do. I would love it if you could head to our Instagram and leave your feedback on today's show in our post comments, show some support and love, because this was not easy.
